Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains how DFP Counseling Services (“we”, “us”) handles information collected through this website, dfpcounseling.com. We built the site to collect as little as possible. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use advertising or social media trackers.
The short version
- The site itself sets no cookies and does not track you across other websites.
- We only turn on visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies) and the embedded Google Map if you choose “Accept All”. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, analytics stay off.
- If you use the contact form, what you enter is emailed to our practice. It is not stored in a database on this website.
- The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam.
Health information and this website
This website is for general information and for getting in touch. It is not part of your clinical record and is not a secure patient portal. Please do not send detailed health information through the contact form or by email. We can talk about the details when we speak.
Once you become a client, your protected health information is handled under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Notice of Privacy Practices you receive at intake. Online therapy sessions take place on a separate HIPAA-compliant platform, not on this website.
This website is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.
Information we collect
Information you give us through the contact form
When you submit the contact form, we collect:
- Your first and last name, phone number, and email address
- Whether you prefer in-person or telehealth sessions
- What you share about why you are seeking therapy
- Your health insurance company (or self-pay) and network type
We use this only to respond to you and to discuss starting services. The form is sent as an email to the practice through our email delivery provider, Resend. A copy is also sent to our website administrator so we can make sure the form is working. The website does not keep its own copy.
Spam protection (contact page only)
The contact page uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not an automated program, is submitting the form. To do this, Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser and device, such as your IP address, browser type, and how the page was loaded. It does not use this information for advertising. Turnstile loads only on the contact page.
Visitor statistics (only if you accept)
If you choose “Accept All”, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. It uses no cookies and does not fingerprint your device. It records things like the page you viewed, the site that referred you, your browser and operating system type, your device type, your approximate country, and how quickly the page loaded. We see these only as totals. We cannot see who you are.
If you choose “Reject”, or your browser sends aGlobal Privacy Control signal, the analytics script is never loaded.
Google Map (only if you accept or click “Show map”)
The Contact section of our home page can show a map from Google Maps. The map does not load until you choose “Accept All” or click “Show map”. Once it loads, Google receives your IP address and browser information and may set its own cookies, underGoogle’s privacy policy.
Information collected automatically to run the site
Like every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) receives your IP address and basic request details (such as browser type and the page requested) when you visit. Cloudflare uses this to deliver pages, keep the site fast, and protect it from attacks and abuse.
Cookies and browser storage
This website does not set cookies of its own. Here is everything that may be stored in your browser:

How long we keep information
Contact form emails are kept in the practice’s email for as long as needed to respond to you and for normal business records, then deleted. Our email delivery provider keeps delivery logs for a limited time under its own policy. Analytics are kept only as totals.
Security
The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Email is a convenient but not fully secure way to communicate, so please keep contact form messages brief.
Children
We provide therapy for children and adolescents, but this website is meant for parents, guardians, and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. A parent or guardian should contact us on a child’s behalf.
Your choices and rights
- Accept or reject analytics and the map at any time using “Privacy Choices” at the bottom of every page.
- Ask us what information we have from a contact form submission, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We will honor these requests and will not treat you differently for making them.
To make a request, call 814-862-9122 or use our contact form.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
